TINY TRUTHS BIBLE
Hi Friends! Today I’m sharing a look at our new favorite children’s bible, The Tiny Truths Bible, and a peek into our bedtime routine with the girls since having two! Stick around to enter a giveaway for The Tiny Truths Bible at the end of this post!
Earlier this week Elliott was napping and Anniston was “helping” me with the laundry. She was playing in the laundry basket as I put clothes away and started pretending the basket was a boat. Then I heard her say, “Look Mommy! I’m in a boat like Jesus!” She might only be two and not understand God’s great love for her yet, but I LOVE that she is already learning about her Heavenly Father through what she learns at church and from reading her bible almost everyday!
Lately we have been reading from her new Tiny Truths Bible (get one here!) and we all love it! It goes into a little more detail than your typical children’s bible which I appreciate because I feel like she’s getting a better picture of the stories she will hear more about as she grows! We also love the illustrations! She loves being able to connect what we are reading about to what she sees on the page! They are fun pictures that keep her engaged and wanting to read more! Anniston loves to read books and we love that she is constantly asking to read this one! We believe the Bible is the greatest story ever told and we pray she comes to learn that for herself too! The Tiny Truths Bible does a beautiful job sharing that story in a way that our little ones can understand!
Bedtime with kids can be chaotic and can almost start to feel machine like as you go through all the tasks before actually getting them into bed, but snuggling together in Anniston’s bed to read as a family is our favorite way to end the day!
On a typical night we start our bedtime routine at 7:00 with Anniston’s bath time. Being a stay at home mom, I get a lot of special moments with the girls, but Miles has been doing bath time since Anniston was just a few months old as his own one-on-one time. He gives Anniston a bath at 7:00 and then gives Elliott a really quick bath immediately following (around 7:10/7:15) while I get Anniston dressed for bed. (One day they will hopefully bathe together, but Anniston and Daddy have a pretty wild bath time that we just don’t think Elliott is ready for yet! Ha!)
Once everyone is bathed and in pjs (and Anniston gets the last of her crazies out!), we all climb into Anniston’s bed to read one book and one bible story from The Tiny Truths Bible. Sometimes I feel like our days are go go go so this is such a sweet time where we can cuddle up together as a family and read from God’s word. I could cry as I look around at my husband and two perfect little girls all snuggled reading our Tiny Truths Bible. These are the days I dreamed about!
After we read, Miles and I take turns praying and then Anniston says her prayers… oh. my. goodness. Sweetest thing ever! After prayers, Miles, Elliott, and myself get out of bed and we tuck Anniston in with her TWO teddies and THREE blankets (in the correct order of course haha). We sing “Jesus Loves Me” once and then Anniston always asks for “one more!” so we sing again and then it’s kisses and lights out!
We aim to be done at 7:30 so I can then take Elliott into her room and nurse her to bed! I’m usually downstairs with Miles no later than 8:00 so we can have about an hour of grown up time before we too are ready for bed haha. Seriously, if we make it to 9:30 I’m impressed. ;)
Of course every night doesn’t look like this. Some nights Anniston is in quite the mood (I’m looking at you terrible twos!) and she can’t even handle reading books. Some nights we get home late and Miles has to do bedtime with Anniston on his own so I can go and nurse Elliott. But the above timeline is what we aim for and is what I would consider a typical day!
If you’re looking for a new bible for your little ones then I highly suggest checking out The Tiny Truths Bible! It’s such a sweet way to teach your babies about God’s love for them! It would make a great gift for their Easter baskets and you can find it here! You can also enter for a chance to win a FREE Tiny Truths Bible by clicking the image below (or HERE)! I know you and your kiddos will love it! Good luck!
