34 WEEK PREGNANCY UPDATE
You guys, I am officially 34 Weeks… that’s 8.5 months… PREGNANT. What?? When did that happen? For those new to the whole pregnancy countdown thing, a normal pregnancy is considered 40 weeks. Babies are considered most safe after 37 weeks so we are basically in the 3-6 week countdown range! (I mean, it will most likely be 6 weeks, but a girl can hope for only 3, right?!)
(To read my 20 week update click here or my first trimester update click here. If you’re new, read my pregnancy announcement here! Such a special story!)
On to the update!
Bump
Baby girl has measured right on track the entire pregnancy! She popped SO much earlier than I did with Anniston, but finally slowed down the tiniest bit where I feel like I look just about the same as I did with Anniston to the week! I carried both girls HIGH (like up to my chest high) so I feel like when I compare photos it’s all pretty similar! Girlfriend is FINALLY head down (she literally would do somersaults daily up until the last 2 weeks) and hopefully she stays that way!
Cravings
NOTHING. And I don’t mean like I don’t have cravings, I mean NOTHING sounds good. Ever. My sweet husband is always trying to make me pick where we eat, but it is impossible because nothing ever sounds appealing. Obviously I end up eating, and I eat A LOT, but nothing has truly sounded good or really satisfied me in the last couple of months. Except ice. Oh man I LOVE ice. Pregnancy is weird haha.
Fun Feelings
She is a wild woman! Like moving and grooving all over the place! I can’t help but reach my hand to my stomach every time I feel her and it truly never gets old. It is such a gift and I will definitely miss those sweet kicks. Also, I’m so far along that it is obvious “I’m pregnant”. I HATE those months where it’s like “are you pregnant OR did you eat a huge burrito?” haha. When I’m out people love to comment on the bump and friends love to touch it and both don’t bother me at all. MOST people are extra nice to me when I’m out and about too so that’s always a plus. :)
NOT So Fun Feelings
I’m not going to lie, as much as I love being pregnant, this one has been a doozy. Like I said, nothing ever sounds good to eat. I have dealt with nausea the whole way through and still get physically sick from time to time. My heartburn is still beyond awful, especially during the night. Like ouch. She is so high up that I constantly feel out of breath and sitting upright on the couch or in a chair is actually the most uncomfortable because I get to the point where I feel like I can’t breathe at all. I hate to complain because I know many women have it much worse, but I just want to keep it real with all of you that it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. ;)
Workouts
I am still going to True40 (learn all about that here) about two to three times a week. I love these workouts and feel like they have helped me stay strong throughout this pregnancy. Over the last two weeks I have definitely had to modify some of the exercises even more than I was as I experience some round ligament pain and basically not being able to do anything on my back anymore. But the instructors are awesome and are always quick to offer modifications!
I felt like I stopped walking for a bit when it was blazing hot here in Auburn, but now that it has FINALLY cooled down (seriously, PRAISE GOD), Anniston and I are back to walking three to five times a week. I usually do 3 miles with Anniston in the jogging stroller and not only is it a great workout, but it is such a fun time for Anniston and I where she asks about EVERYTHING we see. :)
Health
If you followed along with Anniston or earlier in my pregnancy then you know I struggled with elevated blood pressure and was eventually induced with Anniston at 39 weeks just to be safe. I had a few spikes this pregnancy, but everything has looked good since 23 weeks! It has remained normal and we are so thankful for that! Miles likes to take credit and say that he finally learned how to calm me down. Ha! But so far baby girl looks completely healthy and so does mama! We would love for you to join us in prayer for continued health throughout the remainder of this pregnancy!
Next Up… Delivery!
I probably won’t have anymore updates until after our little girl is here which just seems crazy! A lot of people have asked if we have a specific birth plan and even though I am QUITE the planner (understatement of the year haha), I am really going into this one open handed! I did the same thing with Anniston and we were blessed with such a seemingly normal delivery! (Read Anniston’s birth story here!) I would LOVE to go into labor naturally this time, but my induction with Anniston went so smoothly that I’m not terrified of that either. Also, I am neither for or against epidurals. I like to go into labor and give it as much as I’ve got naturally, but if I get an epidural then that’s not the end of the world either. (Basically exactly what happened with Anniston haha). I really just want to take it moment by moment and enjoy it as much as possible!
Many of you have been so encouraging throughout this pregnancy and we appreciate your prayers more than you know! We cannot wait to introduce our little girl to the world! Stay tuned! :)
